Katie Hall joined Haven Ministries in September 2026. Her role as Office Administrator is multifaceted. Katie's experience and background brings a fresh perspective to the team. She has a genuine passion for helping others and serves through her faith.

Her primary responsibility at Haven Ministries is to support clients who are struggling financially. Whether the need is for rent, utility bills, healthcare, or employment, Katie serves as a liaison between clients and the available community resources. She oversees the Haven Ministries Church Benevolent Fund, assisting over 100 clients annually with their rent and utility bills. Her caring, friendly, and calm demeanor is invaluable in making decisions on how to best support clients.

Katie manages various office tasks, such as answering phones, ordering supplies, organizing the office, handling mail, entering deposits, and preparing reports for the accountant—duties essential to effective office management. She also supports the Executive Director with numerous projects.

Katie Hall brings to Haven Ministries a deeply felt call to ministry, grounded in compassionate care and the responsible use of her gifts in finance, analysis, organization, and strategy. Her purpose is to help people facing hardship find assistance and stability while supporting the ministry’s work through thoughtful stewardship.

With more than 12 years of experience in commercial and nonprofit finance and over 30 years in hospitality and general business, Katie brings financial insight, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to fiduciary responsibility. She views sound financial stewardship as an expression of care—honoring the generosity of donors and helping resources reach the people who need them.

Her work is rooted in a lifelong commitment to service and lay ministry in nondenominational Christian settings, including supporting women and single mothers, along with five years of lay ministry, learning, and service within the Episcopal Church. Her experience as a Stephen Minister has further shaped her understanding of ministry as both spiritual and practical. She draws inspiration from James 1:27 and its description of pure religion through caring for orphans and widows in their distress—a calling that informs her concern for those who lack resources, protection, or someone to stand beside them.

Having lived on the Eastern Shore for approximately a decade, raised by a single mother and a single mother herself for most of her life, she has a personal understanding of the uncertainty that can accompany financial hardship. She is concerned about the widening distance between wealth and need, the erosion of middle-class stability, and the people who find themselves struggling without adequate support. Her concern extends to those inside and outside the church, including working individuals and families whose circumstances may conceal how close they are to losing the security of home.

Katie feels called to serve as a bridge between the needs of the community and the compassionate response of the Church, the bride of Christ. She seeks to bring overlooked struggles into view and connect people, congregations, and community partners with opportunities to respond. She is especially mindful of those facing housing and job instability without family, friends, or a dependable support system.

She approaches this work with hope, guided by prayer and discernment. Inspired by Esther’s courage in advocating for her people, Katie seeks to listen carefully, recognize when to speak, and use her experience and relationships in service to others. Her background in hospitality shapes her desire to help each person feel welcomed, respected, and less alone.

Katie joined Haven Ministries in an administrative capacity with a longer-term vision of contributing her financial expertise in partnership with its leadership. She looks forward to supporting financial strategy and long-term sustainability as part of her continuing call to serve.
