We have been awarded a generous grant of $25,000 from The Jacob Sloan Foundation!

We’re thrilled to announce that $5,000 of this donation will be allocated to our Church Benevolent Fund, while the remaining $20,000 will be used to cover expenses for The Jacob Sloan Center.

In Partnership with Haven Ministries 'The Jacob Sloan Center' opened its doors in October of 2024 dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for Haven Ministries’ shelter guests. Here, individuals can access vital resources such as job training, budgeting classes, and essential life skills all aimed at helping them transform their circumstances and build a brighter future.

"The JCS remains open to provide resources throughout the summer and serves as an official Cooling Station, offering relief to individuals affected by the recent heat wave" .

The JSC is accessible throughout the year for programs and general community use via Haven Ministries' partner organizations.

As of 2025, Mary Jourdak, Shelter & Housing Director, reports "we have welcomed 560 individuals at the JSC seeking support and assistance. Here are some of the services we offer to help those in our community":

•Laundry

•Showers

•Mid Shore Behavioral Health visits

•Social Security assistance

•Budget workshop assistance

•Computer assistance

•Resume assistance

•Developmental Disabilities Administration assistance

We are here to help and provide support, dignity, and safety for vulnerable individuals and families.
